Lenzing Nonwovens expands LENZING lyocell dry fiber line

Lenzing Nonwovens, a provider of regenerated cellulose fibers, has expanded its LENZING™ Lyocell Dry fiber range with two new cellulosic fibers: a fine dry fiber that offers a combination of strength and softness, and a coarse dry fiber that enhances liquid and air flow. These innovative fibers allow customers to confidently extend the use of LENZING’s sustainable, wood-based and biodegradable fibers into a broader range of applications without compromising quality.
All LENZING Lyocell Dry fibers in this collection—standard, fine, and coarse—feature hydrophobic properties, ensuring effective liquid management for a wide array of nonwoven applications.
The new LENZING Lyocell Dry fine fiber enables the production of nonwoven fabrics with higher density than those made with the standard fiber. With up to 30% more cellulosic fibers in the same space, customers can create stronger and softer nonwoven products, ideal for hygiene applications such as diapers and sanitary pads.
The LENZING Lyocell Dry coarse fiber creates more open fabrics due to its larger fiber diameter, which increases the size of the pores within the fabric. This design allows greater air and liquid flow through the material, making it ideal for the acquisition and distribution layers in hygiene products and suitable for industrial filtration applications.
Monique Buch, Executive Vice President of Nonwoven at Lenzing AG, stated, “By offering a varied range of hydrophobic cellulosic fibers from fine to coarse that comply with the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive, our customers can now access alternative fibers for more applications while achieving high performance.”
